Lemma Lah

This contemporary seating ‘lemmalah’ was inspired by the very basic form of Arabic script; Kofi writing. The passion for the written script, the art of ‘khat’ constitutes a fundamental trait of Arabic culture that is so powerful, it elevates every living experience. The Kofi letters and script were used to configure this contemporary seating. Written in Kofi script the word “lemma Lah” (why not), flows in the space with its intimate proportions and sinuous curves. So we ask Why not? “Some men see things as they are and say why, I dream things that never were and say why not.” G.B.S.

The FA.B.

The “Fa.B.” is a fabric bookcase and a fabulous new way to store, arrange and protect your books and magazines. Outside the rationale of any shelving system, “Fa.B.” offers the user renewable storage space. A single or more modular fabric units can be added to the wooden stand in a few minutes. The durable fabric along with the wide open wooden sides of “Fa.B.” gives us the opportunity to use as little raw materials as possible, according to the "dematerialization" approach that our times require. The “Fa.B.” is an easy to move around, foldable – literally!- flat-pack furniture.

Recently, studies have shown that ergonomic seating comfort is achieved through the connection between movements and changes in body position. In response to this, a simple ale-bench offers your body the ability to sit in a way that is comfortable to you.The centerpiece of the chair is comprised of a flexible directional back made of felt. It is designed in a way that allows for varying positions and is therefore very adaptable. The adjustable backrest supports and warms the lower back, providing greater support. To manufacture this chair, the sustainable materials of timber and felt are used.

The way it saves space is quite original, having two chairs completely hidden inside de drawer. When placed inside the main furniture, you don´t realise that what seems to be drawers are actually two separate chairs. You can also have a table which can be used as a desk when taken out of the main structure. The main structure consists of four drawers and a compartment just above the top drawer in which you can store many things. The main material used for this furniture, beign eucaliptus fingerjoint, is eco friendly, incredibly resistant, hard and has a very strong visual appeal.
