Wings
Wings is a leisure chair inspired by the movement of butterflies. The form refers to butterfly wings in different states, giving a solid object a sense of life. The back is connected to the middle of the seat, and the seat surface opens on both sides to wrap the hips for greater comfort. The legs use a double layer support that increases stability. The chair is produced as one piece by 3D printing in blue translucent plastic. The outer surface carries a striped texture that recalls wing patterns and increases friction.
Wings Leisure Chair by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was selected as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Wings Leisure Chair received the Silver A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
