Picasso Credenza

Picasso

Picasso is a credenza designed for modern interiors. The piece combines solid Tzalam wood with tempered glass panels that are painted by hand from behind in different color tones. The wood is cut with computer controlled machinery and finished by hand. Mortise and tenon joints hold the structure, and the legs have angular shapes. The doors have soft closing hinges. Six layers of polyurethane protect the surface and highlight the wood. The credenza can be placed along a wall in a room or a hallway, or used as a divider between areas.

Fireplace Table

Fireplace

Fireplace is more than a coffee table. It imitates the role of a fireplace with its lighting and the function of bringing people together. The inside light is supposed to evoke the attributes of fire and the tranquility of a welcoming home. The antiqued and rustic surface generates the feeling of burning and ashes while bringing traits of modernity and functionality to the work. The circular look is built up of modern, angular geometric shapes contrasting the modern and the traditional design. You can put objects anywhere in/ on the table without blocking the way of the light.

Mini off Children Furniture

Mini off

Mini Off is a children furniture line designed for nursery schools. Mini Off is made of Lanisor, a light acoustic material with a high level of sound absorption. Noise enters the surface and spreads inside the material, where friction between the fibres turns the kinetic energy into heat. This effect reduces the noise level in the room. The low weight allows children to lift the furniture and place it where they want. The soft surface also makes the furniture safer for children in case of falls or knocks.

Arctic Coffee table

Arctic

The Arctic is a coffee table with dynamic waves at the bottom which generate a visual illusion that the still table appears as moving. In Chinese Five Elements, black corresponds to Water element hence the table is painted in black as well as emphasising the visual illusion of the waves. In the designer’s concept, aesthetics equals to functionality. Thus, the strips are responsible to functionality with the supporting frames whilst the waves can be also used practically: the top corners can be used as CD stands and the waves can be used as magazine stands.

Xanxan Shelf

Xanxan

Xanxan is a shelf with customizable configurations, designed to reduce transport and storage space. The design consists of two anchor posts to which a web of strings is fastened. A simple mechanism allows the user to adjust the tension of each string and to create a straight support surface. Xanxan holds the same items as a standard shelf and can also be used as a hanger. Compared with a standard shelf, Xanxan uses seven times less wood, needs nine times less storage space and weighs four times less. The anchor posts are made of maple wood.

Zene Dining chair

Zene

Zene dining chair takes its inspiration from indigenous timber and Danish Modern design. The light ash frames are simple and robust and support hardwood seats and backrests that appear to float on the frame. The curved forms of the seat/backrest are not formed by bending the wood but rather by joining and shaping solid hardwood timber. As a series the light ash frames provide cohesion, and different local materials selected for the seat/backrests generate interest and relevance.

5x5 Chair

5x5

The 5x5 chair is a typical design project where the limitation is recognised as a challenge. The chair's seat and the back are made of xilith which is very difficult to be shaped. Xilith is the raw material that can be found 300 meters under the ground's surface and is comined with a coal. Currently the majority of the raw material is thrown away. From environmental point of view this material generates waste on the earth's surface. Therefore the idea about the chair design seemed to be very provocative and challenging.

Sousmotif Coaster

Sousmotif

It is quite intriguing to be able to see aspects of one country's history and folklore through a different perspective. That led to the creation of Sousmotif, a coaster set which is inspired by the motif found on textiles that are produced by a traditional loom in Northern Greece. History lives on through a coaster and makes a new turn.

Aero Bookcase

Aero

Aero Bookcase is a freestanding bookcase inspired by the airplanes of the 1920s. The legs and the main structure follow curved lines that recall early aviation and the organic style of that period. The frame is made of solid Tzalam wood, and the shelves combine laminated natural oak with colored laminated glass. The inverted curved wooden shelves keep books close to one another. The glass shelves hold books or ornaments, and the tinted glass reflects colored light into the room. The surfaces are finished with six layers of polyurethane.

Ydin Stool

Ydin

Ydin stool can be mounted by yourself, without using special tools, thanks to a simple interlocking system. The 4 identical feet are placed in no particular order and the concrete seat, acting as the keystone, keeps everything in place. Feet are made with scrap wood coming from a stairs manufacturer, easily machined using traditional woodworking techniques and finally oiled. The seat is simply moulded in a lasting fiber-reinforced UHP Concrete. Only 5 dissociable parts to be flat packed and ready to be shipped to final customers, is another sustainability argument.
